The link between PK & Stamkos is obvious. I don't think taxes will play too much of a part in his decision. I think that for Stamkos, he'll go where he feels is the best fit and gives him the best chance at winning. Having P.K, Price, Pacioretty, Gallagher, Galchenyuk is a positive for Montreal, those 5 players represent a very strong core. However, where would Stamkos fit? Crucially, will Stamkos go somewhere that he will only play center or is he open to playing the wing? Right now Galchenyuk is the # 1 center. Does Stamkos play center between Pacioretty & Gallagher? Who would Galchenyuk play with on the 2nd line? Would he play wing or maybe get traded for a winger? Or if Stamkos is willing to play RW, then you instantly have one of the most dangerous top lines in the NHL with Pacioretty, Galchenyuk and Stamkos. There are a lot of goals on that line... I would take Stamkos in Montreal in a hearbeat, but he will likely find a better fit elsewhere...

A true winger would probably make more sense and cost less than Stamkos.

If they can sign Stamkos, they will go for it but I doubt he wants to come to MTL. What true winger will be UFA? |

+ Ladd, Backes, Lucic, Eriksson.
They already have a poop load of money on Subban and Price will most likely ask for a raise. I would like Stamkos on the Habs, sure, but I think others choices make more sense. +, like Jen said, 29 others teams will be on this. |

don't think Stamkos will go for the highest salary, everyone will offer 10m+. It will be about winning and where he thinks he fits best. Tampa has the advantage of adding an extra year to their offer if they want to. |

If Tampa offers 10m+, you would think he would stay there. Unless he really wants to play as a centre.
Some teams can't afford him (like LA or Chicago), and I am not sure about Montreal (they would have to get creative with the cap). |
